EM-POWER 2025: WHERE THE PARTNERSHIP BEGAN
Every good partnership has a starting point that doesn’t look like one at the time. For terahash and dtm group, that point was EM-Power 2025 in Munich. Terahash was there with its own booth, while dtm group visited the fair with an open mind for new ideas from the energy and IT sectors. A first conversation at the booth quickly turned to the overlap between the two companies: the potential synergies between energy infrastructure and IT infrastructure.
FROM CONVERSATION TO COOPERATION
What started as an idea at the fair soon took concrete shape. At an in-person meeting at terahash, both teams sat down to explore the topics from their first conversation in more depth. The discussions that followed grew into a cooperation that has expanded steadily ever since and resulted in a joint product: the terahash.datablock powered by Vaiking, a highly integrated, rack-based indoor micro data center with intelligent control for heat recovery.
That is exactly what makes this partnership special. Two companies from different fields, energy and IT infrastructure, found each other through EM-Power to jointly develop solutions for the infrastructure of tomorrow.
In early 2026, the terahash team visited dtm group to discuss the project status and product specifications.
ONE YEAR LATER: FIRST JOINT APPEARANCE AT EM-POWER 2026
One year after first meeting, things came full circle. At EM-Power 2026 in Munich, terahash and dtm group presented publicly for the first time what had come out of the previous year’s conversations. The focus was on the terahash.datablock powered by Vaiking. This infrastructure product is a solution for modern, decentralized IT infrastructure. It shows how closely energy and IT have grown together and directly addresses the challenges companies face today.
The terahash.datablock was a real crowd-puller at our joint booth at EM-Power and sparked many exciting conversations.
TODAY’S CHALLENGES
The conversations at EM-Power 2026 revealed the same pattern again and again: many companies are currently facing very similar challenges. Data volumes keep growing, while IT infrastructure is increasingly needed at decentralized locations. At the same time, security requirements are rising, pressure to improve energy efficiency is mounting, and solutions still need to remain scalable. These topics came up in almost every conversation at the joint booth, a clear sign of how relevant they have become in practice.
OUR JOINT SOLUTION: THE TERAHASH.DATABLOCK POWERED BY VAIKING
This is exactly where the terahash.datablock comes in. As a highly integrated, rack-based indoor micro data center with intelligent control for heat recovery, it brings IT infrastructure directly to where it is needed, right where data is generated and used. Waste heat can be utilized via an external connection designed specifically for each project. At the fair, terahash and dtm group demonstrated together how a modern micro data center can help companies achieve exactly that: being flexible, secure and scalable while integrating intelligent solutions into their infrastructure.
“With dtm group, we have found a partner that thinks just as pragmatically and solution-oriented as we do. The terahash.datablock powered by Vaiking shows what can be achieved when energy and IT expertise are brought together from the very beginning. This is exactly the approach we want to continue pursuing with our customers.”
Matthias Fendt, Head of Operations, terahash
The terahash.datablock offers several technical features that set it apart from conventional data center systems. The cooling infrastructure of the indoor rack is designed for up to 150 kW of heat dissipation, with a maximum IT load of up to 135 kW. The rack can be configured with various 19-inch systems; ASIC miners, HPC or GPU systems can be integrated on a project-specific basis after technical review.
With a 48U rack base, direct liquid cooling with waste heat temperatures of up to 65 °C, and a PUE reference range of 1.03 to 1.06 at 25 °C, the datablock achieves high efficiency and power density. External heat dissipation or waste heat utilization is connected depending on the site and use case.
Through the Vaiking software, an intelligent, AI-supported control system with real-time data and predictive maintenance ensures energy-efficient operation, while the modular 150 kW cooling capacity class enables fast integration and scaling. The robust rack platform is designed for indoor installation, and the system is built to integrate into the site’s fire protection and safety standards.

KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM EM-POWER 2026
For terahash and dtm group, EM-Power 2026 was not an end point but rather another beginning. The many conversations at the booth made one thing especially clear:
Edge computing is noticeably gaining importance
Energy and IT are growing ever more closely together
Companies are increasingly looking for holistic solutions rather than individual components
And partnerships like this one create exactly the trust needed for joint projects
What began in 2025 as a spontaneous conversation at a trade fair booth is now a joint product that gives customers concrete support in building modern, decentralized IT infrastructure.
