Industrial Heat Pump: terahash.heatblock
Is the heat pump eligible for government funding?
Yes, the terahash.heatblock is eligible for funding through KfW and BAFA programmes. Which programme applies and how much funding is available depends on factors such as your company, the application and the scope of the project. In addition to funding, switching to an electric heat supply reduces your CO₂ emissions and makes you less dependent on rising CO₂ prices. Feel free to get in touch – we’ll help you assess your options.
Can the heat pump heat and cool at the same time?
Yes, the terahash.heatblock is dual-use capable and can provide both heating and cooling. This is particularly useful in companies where processes need to be cooled while heat is required elsewhere: the heat extracted during cooling is directly available as useful heat. Compared with separate heating and cooling systems, you save space, investment costs and energy.
Micro Data Center: terahash.datablock
What hardware can be operated in the terahash.datablock R150?
The R150 is designed for water-cooled high-performance systems such as GPU servers for AI and HPC applications or ASIC miners in 19-inch format. The rack offers 48 rack units and supports an IT load of up to 135 kW with a maximum electrical connected load of 150 kW. Cooling is provided by Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) including manifolds. This enables high power density with low noise levels.
How can the waste heat from the micro data center be used?
Depending on the hardware used, the R150 provides waste heat at up to 65 °C, with typical supply and return temperatures of approximately 45 °C and 55 °C respectively and a flow rate of up to 220 l/min. From the transfer point onwards, the heat can be integrated into existing energy systems, for example for space heating or process heat. This allows fossil heat sources to be replaced and generates additional revenue or savings. The integrated Vaiking control system handles waste heat management and cooling circuit optimization.
What are the requirements for the installation site?
The R150 is an indoor system measuring 0.75 x 1.20 x 2.23 m (W x D x H). The footprint itself is approximately 0.9 m², but around 5 m² should be allowed for operation. In operation, the unit weighs 800 to 1,000 kg. Requirements include a 400 V three-phase power connection (50 Hz), a water connection for supply and return, and a network connection via Ethernet or, optionally, fiber optic. The ambient temperature may range from 0 °C to 40 °C. The IP54 enclosure with early fire detection, access control and UPS technology makes the R150 a self-contained, independently secured unit.
Which standards does the terahash.datablock R150 meet, and how is fire protection handled?
The R150 bears the CE marking and complies with the Low Voltage Directive (2014/35/EU) and the EMC Directive (2014/30/EU). Test certification is available for IP54 protection in accordance with EN 60529, and the enclosure is suitable for gas extinguishing systems in accordance with VdS 2380, DIN EN 15004 and ISO 14520. Early fire detection via multi-sensor, access control and UPS technology can be integrated. A gas extinguishing system is available as an option. PED conformity of the water-carrying components is certified by the CDU manufacturer. A low-voltage distribution board in accordance with EN 61439 must be provided on site by the customer. The building’s overarching fire protection and access concept is the responsibility of the operator. The R150 can be integrated into this concept, and specific compliance verification is carried out on a project-specific basis.
